Cody is licensed to practice law in both Utah and Arizona. Cody’s practice is focused on Real Estate, Estate Planning and Business Planning.
Prior to working with Breglio Law Office, Cody worked for a large private investment firm based out of Salt Lake, managing a $200M portfolio of commercial real estate, including stints as General Manager of a regional shopping mall, and Director of Development over a 120-acre mixed-use development in Utah County.
Cody earned a Bachelors degree in Business Finance from the University of Phoenix while working as a full-time Asset Manager for a real estate development firm in the Phoenix area. He later went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska.
During law school, Cody focused his course studies on those topics that would affect the operation of a business, including coursework such as: International Business Transactions, Mergers & Acquisitions, Taxation of Business Enterprises, Federal Income Tax, Business Associations, Bankruptcy, Negotiations, Trademarks, Copyrights, Legal Issues in E-commerce, and Business Planning. Cody and his classmate won the Law School’s annual negotiation competition and went on to compete regionally in Portland Oregon. He was also awarded the Cali Award for Excellence, giving him the top grade of the class in the Negotiations course.
While in law school, he worked at the Creighton University School of Law Community and Economic Development Legal Clinic where he provided legal services to small business owners and start-ups by forming legal entities, drafting contracts, registering trademarks and giving general business legal counsel.
Cody was a member of the Creighton International Comparative Law Journal, where he wrote an article on Human Rights and International Corporate Policies and participated in various other law school groups and law societies, including two years as the vice president of the Business Law and the J. Reuben Clarke Law Societies. Cody finished law school with distinction and was awarded a certificate in Business Law for his emphasis on the topic throughout school.
Prior to law school, Cody worked for in the real estate industry. Specifically, working in the development and management of retail shopping centers and as a retail real estate broker. He grew up in the construction industry and has a sound understanding of the real estate and construction markets and the processes and challenges that are inherent to those industries.
Before his time in real estate, Cody built his first company as a 21 year-old. His first company was called Kiss Your Glass and was a professional window cleaning company. Building that business from scratch became a foundational piece of Cody’s business experience and love for entrepreneurship. It became his hands-on learning and foundational education where he learned many lessons in marketing, customer service and management that have served him well over the years. Kiss Your Glass was a very successful enterprise that quickly grew from zero to over 400 accounts, both residential and commercial.
Cody is a current member of the American Bar Association, Arizona Bar Association, Utah Bar Association and the J. Reuben Clark Law Society.
Cody is a proud husband and father of three daughters and lives in Lehi, UT.
